Craps Bets
Looking at a craps table can be very discouraging for new craps players. A craps table can appear complicated and confusing to the untrained eye—there appears to be tons of complicated bets and this deters many people from even trying to play the online craps game or craps in casinos. The truth is, once you understand the different types of craps bets it’s really easy to understand the game.
First you should understand what players are betting on in craps. Craps players take turns rolling the dice and other players bet on the outcome of their roll. If a player rolls 7 or 11 on their come-out (opening) roll they automatically win. If a player comes-out with “craps” rolls of 2, 3 or 12 then they automatically lose. If they roll any other number then this becomes their “point” and they must re-roll it before they roll a 7 in order to win the game. If they roll a 7 first then they lose. Other players bet on the outcome of the rollers game. Players can place bets on a variety of factors from whether or not a player will win to specific rolls.

The most basic bet in craps is the pass line bet. By placing chips on the pass line you are simply betting that the roller will win. The no-pass line, on the other hand, bets that the player will lose (with the exception of a come-out roll of 12 by which the better breaks even).
The come and don’t come bets are similar to the pass and no-pass bars. The difference is that these bets are made after the point is established.
Players may also bet on specific rolls. The field bet, for instance, bets that the player will roll 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12 on their next roll. More specific bets on the next roll are available as well such as the 7 bet, the craps bets and the Hardaway bets.
Big 6 and Big 8 simply bet that 6 or 8 will be rolled before 7, whether or not 6 or 8 is the point.
As you can see, there are many options for betting in craps and many opportunities to win.
