In-depth Craps Rules Part 2
In a typical craps casino game, there are several ways that you can place your bet. We outline some of the main ones for you:
Pass Line Bets: If the shooter’s first roll (known as a come out roll) is a number 7 or 11, you win on these bets; however you lose if the come out roll is a 2, 3 or 12. Craps rules state that any other number that is rolled is known as the ‘point’ and you will win any pass line bet if the shooter throws the ‘point’ before a 7. A losing bet occurs when a 7 is thrown before a point. There is a 1:1 payoff on this bet.
Don’t Pass Line Bets: If the shooter’s come out roll is a 2 or a 3, you win on this bet. However, if the first numbers are 7 or 11, you lose. If a 12 is thrown, you get your money back. Any other number automatically becomes the point. You can remove or reduce this bet while the shooter is rolling on the second round. If the point comes up before a 7 is rolled, you win on this bet. If it comes up after a 7, you lose. As with pass line bets, the payoff is 1:1 on this bet.

Come Bets: You can place these bets – which are almost identical to pass line bets – after the point is established in the craps casino game. If the next roll is either number 7 or 11, you win this bet, but lose if it is 2, 3 or 12. Any other number thrown is known as the “come point”. Payoff for this bet is 1:1 and you cannot remove, reduce or change a come bet.
Don’t Come Bets: You place these bets after the first come out roll. If the shooter throws 2 or 3, you win the bet but lose if he or she throws 7 or 11. You get your money back if a 12 is thrown. Payoff is 1:1 and bets can be changed (or removed) after being placed.
